In February this year, after learning that Zheng Liang, the former first deputy of Asia, was paralyzed by spinal cord disease in bed, the provincial Disabled Persons Federation contacted Zheng Liang for the first time and went to visit him. After knowing about Zheng Liang's life and needs, the provincial Disabled Persons Federation decided to customize a wheelchair for Zheng Liang.

Zheng Liang's height is 2.01 meters. He can't use ordinary wheelchair size at all. Many custom-made wheelchair manufacturers do not accept orders because they are too big.

According to Zheng Liang's physical condition, the provincial Disabled Persons Federation contacted well-known wheelchair manufacturers in China to measure Zheng Liang's size on the spot, and to understand his other needs, and finally made a design plan based on the collected data. Because the size is too large, there is no model in China. According to the measured data, the manufacturer re-opens the model, designs the wheelchair frame, and customizes the accessories. After the wheelchair vehicle assembly is completed, the manufacturer sends the wheelchair to the Quality Inspection Department for inspection, and then delivers the wheelchair to the provincial Disabled Persons'Union after passing the inspection. In addition, they also equipped Zheng Liang with a bedsore cushion and a body strap.

On the afternoon of May 5, Ji Xuejun, a researcher from the Ministry of Rehabilitation of the Provincial Disabled Persons'Federation, Yang Xiaoming, vice-president Lu Yan, vice-director of the Xiacheng Disabled Persons' Federation, Fan Zhemin, vice-director of Changqing Street, and Zheng Liang, a staff member of Zhejiang Social Welfare Center, sent the wheelchair specially designed for him. "This wheelchair is arguably the highest wheelchair in Asia." Provincial Disabled Persons Federation staff told reporters.

"At that time, they measured the data very accurately, this wheelchair is almost 1.5 times my original wheelchair, I sit on it very comfortable, calf just can be placed straight." Zheng Liang was very satisfied with the new wheelchair. He told reporters that besides the size of the wheelchair, the handrails were well designed, the arms were comfortable on it, and the folding was very convenient. It was much better than the original wheelchair.

After dinner, Zheng Liang could not wait to take a walk downstairs in his new wheelchair. He looked in a good mood. He told the press conference to adjust his mind and continue to meet the challenges in his life. What makes him happy is not only this new wheelchair, but also the endless care and blessings from all walks of life, so that he can muster up courage and continue to persevere.
